Manama, 9th February 2017: The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority took part in the second-edition of the Travel and Tourism Pioneers Forum 2017 held in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The delegation, headed by Director of Tourism Marketing and Promotions at BTEA, Yousif Al Khan, comes in line with the authority’s strategy to promote its tourism identity ‘Ours Yours’.

The two-day event brings together prominent and leading travel and tourism experts from across the region including tourism officials, travel agents, hoteliers and so forth.

“The Kingdom of Bahrain boasts strong historical ties with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is vital that we take part in initiatives and events that is of bilateral importance including tourism related activities,” said Director of Tourism Marketing and Promotions at BTEA, Yousif Al Khan.

“The tourism industry is one of the main contributors to the national economy and indirectly revitalizes other commercial sectors,” he added.

BTEA’s participation during the event included a booth that included five hotels from the Kingdom of Bahrain, Hotel Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa, Orange Suites, Crowne Plaza, Golden Tulip and the Regency Intercontinental Hotel.

The tourism identity was launched last year in a step to further develop the tourism sector as a main contributor to the national economy by elevating the industry, attracting investors and providing a suitable environment to incubate tourism projects.
